For a truly high end look, applique and tackle twill are the way to go when decorating apparel. Applique is the application of one type of fabric that is sewn on to the garment. A wide variety of fabrics can be used for applique work.
Tackle Twill is the application of 2 layers of Twill material. Twill is a stiffer fabric. The fabrics are welded together and then sewn, typically in 2 colors, onto the garment.
Uses are Hoodies, T-shirts, polo shirts (all the rage today), Sport uniforms such as cheer leading shells and more.
In addition to a great look, this method allows us to use less stitches, thus saving you money!
The picture shows examples of Tackle Twill applications. The Voorhees sweatshirt also had 3" numbers embroidered onto the sleeve. The cheer shell in the picture is an example of a youth small garment. The Del Val Cross Country is an example of Old style tackle twill.
